My name is Mary Clarisse. I graduated from SUNY Oswego in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I am currently a graduate student at SUNY Oswego pursing a degree in Literacy Education. As part of my graduate education I am taking a class on professional portfolio development. This blogfolio is to aid in the development of my professional teaching portfolio. It is a place where I can address the standards that new teachers should strive to reach and discuss how I intend to meet those standards.

I recently took a position as a teaching assistant for a team of kindergarten teachers in the North Rose Wolcott School District. I have loved every minute it! Children at this age are so innocent and eager to learn. I cannot think of a more rewarding experience than being a part of this process. When a child learns something new it truly is magic.

In my spare time (which is very limited!) I enjoy spending time with my new husband (we were married on September 29^th, 2007) and friends. I love a good book, a long walk and knitting. Scrapbooking and sewing are next on the list of things I want to learn to do when I have time.
